Database Error:
You will first test to see if your database is missing or corrupt.
Follow these steps to see if your database is missing or corrupt.
Note: After clicking the browse button usually the look in will be in the location MediaShout is pulling your
song database from. Please write down the location of this file for later use in these instructions.
Determine if your database is corrupt or missing.
Please follow these steps to determine if your database is corrupt of missing.
Follow these instructions to fix the corrupt database or missing database.
Note: This could be different for each person but usually this is done by right clicking the file > choosing extract all > choose the same location from
above for the file to extract to.
5. Open MediaShout.
6. If you get an error at this time please continue to step 4. If you did not get an error you are finished.
7. Next you will want to restore from an old backup, whether the file is one MediaShout has backed up or one that you have backed up.
Note: If you have opened MediaShout more than three times since this error message all of your backups could possibly be corrupt.
To restore from backup:
Version 4.x:
a. Select Window > Song Deck to open a song deck.
b. Click the Song Library Management Tools button .
c. Select Restore Library. The Restore Song Library dialog box opens.
d. Click the song file you wish to restore.
Note: If you receive and error after restoring the database please see note below you will have to replace the
database with the above instructions but this time you will not be able to restore from that backup because i the
backup file you used t is corrupt.
Version 3.x:
a. Click tools > click ShoutSinger
b. Click file > click restore from backup
c. Browse to find your backup.
d. Click the song file you wish to restore.
Note: If you receive and error after restoring the database please see note below you will have to replace the
database with the above instructions but this time you will not be able to restore from that backup because
the backup file you used is corrupt.
Restore your library when your backup is corrupt.
a. You will recover some songs as you open your old scripts, which MediaShout will prompt you to add the songs.
b. Or if you imported songs from SongSelect you will download those again from SongSelect .
