Custom V3 Templates Cause Stage Issues

I ported this in from the GS forum to see if we can reproduce it. I have not seen this behavior but early tests have shown reapplying the template causes V1a and V1b to be the same(V1a)

Basically several things are happening but they all appear to revolve around the fact that Stage View is NOT paying attention to template settings for vertical and horizontal alignment, font selection, and so forth. It also does not display Header and Footer content even though they are specified in the settings. Reapplying a template or applying a different template overwrites any custom text you've entered into Stage View. If you have page breaks in verse/chorus/whatever, and you have custom text, and you make a formatting change, the Verse 1b text gets overwritten with Verse 1a text.

1. Insert page breaks into the verses.

2. Set Stage Body Text to Custom and apply.

3. Change templates.

The results should be V1a and V1b should be the same.

I can't get this to fault.  I use a blank first and last page if that helps.

I was using an old song.   I'll try and add some extra page breaks.

I was able to get it to fault, or at least found something interesting.  I opened a stock v3 song that had never been touched.   It had actually opened with a v3 template instead of my default v4 template.  I made 3 page breaks in v1.  then looked at the stage display (this template didn't have anything saved to the stage settings).  all 3 pages were correct at this point.  I changed to a template with the stage settings saved and all 3 pages for v1 still looked correct.  Then I changed to the second stage template which now has all the same settings as the first.  And all 3 pages of v1 are the same.  I proceeded to add page breaks to v2.  Again 3 page breaks and then went to look at the stage before reapplying the template.  Now v2 had the 3 pages but had the entire verse on every page.  I changed to my first stage template and everything was correct.  I change back over to the previous template(the one I edited v2 in) and v1 and v2 all had verse 1a or 2a instead of anything else.

From the 'For What It's Worth' department: this is still happening on the most recent (non-beta) build (188?). I have not addressed this for awhile because frankly I gave up and have been using PowerPoint for several months. Our service then went on hiatus for the summer while we made some logistical changes. I'm trying to use it again now that we've moved our service to Sunday mornings. To reiterate the issue simply: after editing custom text, it appears ANY CHANGE to formatting, applying a template, whatever, causes multi-page cues to have the first page of stage view text duplicated on all other pages...I would be more than happy to set up a screen sharing session with someone to see what I'm doing if that would help. I really would love to use the stage view to display chord charts for my musicians but I can't depend on it.

I was able to isolate the issue to custom templates. The issue will occur when what seems to be a custom V3 template is applied. Let me know what you find when you apply a V4 stock template.

Thanks, John. I saw your response in the Get Satisfaction forum about replacing the templates...can you tell me where these are located and how to replace them?

Never mind, found 'em...I'll replace them all and see what I get.

Ken Granger,

Are you still seeing this issue?
