*Note: MediaShout is a 32 bit application and will not take full advantage of multiple CPU cores. It will work well with 64 bit operating systems, however.
Video card notes:
- The speed of the processor is more important than the amount of video memory.
- DDR3 is noticeably faster than DDR2.
- If your only options when building a PC online are graphics cards with "shared" memory, choose the one with the most "dedicated" or "discreet" memory. (i.e. Dell offers an X1400 w/256MB of Hypermemory (shared) with 128 dedicated and 128 shared.)
- ATI shared memory GPUs call it Hypermemory.
- NVidia shared memory GPUs call it Turbocache.
- Video cards purchased separately typically come with a DVI to VGA adapter, while cards with DVI purchased with the computer at a store typically do not.
