Problems with text

I made a text box, added the text to it and went to edit text mode. In the pg 1 editing, I reposition the text, I also took off the shadow. I went back to the cue mode, made the box to narrow, I went to change the font and then I got the spinning ball. I had to force quit. This is my first time in this version 1.1.4977. A little disappointing for trying to make a text cue without freezing the first time.

Text box causing a problem again, version 1.1.4981, on snow leopard 10.5.8. I started a new script again after doing a fresh install. By the way the uninstaller does not take all the parts.
I added a song without increasing the text (which is what cause me a problem before), bible verse and a graphic. Then I added some text to the new window, and I dragged it to the script window. I clicked on the edit button to do more editing and a got a white window with a spinning ball, so I had to force quit.
What's up with this text box problem? There is also a problem with the songs lyrics going to a second page.

Working with text (especially in editing song lyrics) is ridiculously difficult and erratic. Anytime I highlight text and change the font, the window goes blank and I have to re-select the slide to get it back. Often, the lyrics editor will quit accepting changes at all and I have to exit shout and restart to begin making changes again. I usually can't get the italics to apply to highlighted text. Thoughts?
