A quick overview of MediaShout basics

Getting Started with MediaShout

MediaShout’s terminology is a little different than what many people are used to, so we suggest you start with the basics.  You will want to know the layout of MediaShout because this will allow you to navigate the software with ease.  A basic knowledge with the primary elements will help you avoid feeling as though this program is complicated.  Once you get the basics it is a very simple program. Some of the basic items and terms you need to know are: 

• Script
• Cue
• Deck
• Viewer
• Toolbar
• Firebox

A Script is what many users call a 'presentation',  'program' or 'service'.  This is simply a list of cues, or events, that happen during your presentation.  Each Cue is an item that you want to present to your congregation or audience.  The list below shows the different types of media you may insert into your script as a cue.

The graphic below shows the name and location of many of the most important parts of the MediaShout Control Display screen.  The page numbers listed refer to sections in the User's Guide that will assist you in learning MediaShout.  Once you are familiar with these areas then you will want to explore the User's Guide, or purchase and view our MediaShout University training DVDs, to gain a better understanding of those features.  We also have some help guides in our Knowledge Base and on our YouTube channel.
