Sometimes users create QuickTime video content in Final Cut Pro to use in MediaShout.  There are several different types of QuickTime codecs that you can use to export with.

You can create a mov file without compression which will be the best quality  by going to File > Export > QuickTime Movie.  This will create a high quality file, however if the video is lengthy it might be too big of a file for MediaShout.  For more information about video file sizes in MediaShout, see our article about Video File Sizes in MediaShout.

You can also go to File > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion which will give you a list of different formats (codecs) to choose from.  You can experiment with these and find one that works best for your situation.

Here are some recommended formats:

  1. Movie to iPod
  2. Movie to QuickTime Movie (Go to Options>Video>Settings for specific codec options.  Some codecs that can work in MediaShout are Sorenson 3, H.264, and MPEG-4.)
  3. Movie to AVI
  4. Movie to MPEG-4
  5. Movie to MPEG2
  6. Movie to Windows Media

It is also important to have the right codecs installed on the computer to play QuickTime files in MediaShout.  For more information about this, see read the section on QuickTime in our article describing K-Lite Codec Pack installation.
