Why can't I import my Song Discovery volumes?

Somestimes users run across issues importing Song Discovery volumes 62 and prior into the MediaShout song database.  This happens because the MediaShout x.ini file is in a different location in the system than prior versions.  These Song Discovery volumes were created before v3.2 and don't reflect the new location of the MediaShout x.ini file.  It should import fine into MediaShout versions 3.0 and 3.1.

You will need to make a copy of the MediaShout x.ini file in its current location and paste it into the old location.  Here are instructions for doing this:

Windows XP

  1. Go to Start>My Computer>C:>Documents and Settings>All Users>Application Data>MediaComplete>MediaShout 3.  (Application Data is typically a hidden folder.  You may need to go to Tools>Folder Options>View and Shout Hidden Files and Folders to see this directory.)
  2. Right click and copy the file named MediaShout x.ini.  (Do NOT move the file or MediaShout may not work properly.)
  3. Go to Start>My Computer>C:>Windows and past the file in this directory.

Windows Vista/7

  1. Go to Start>Computer>C:>Program Data>MediaComplete>MediaShout.  (Program Data is typically a hidden folder.  You may need to go to Organize>Folder and Search Options>View and Show Hidden Files and Folders.)
  2. Right click and copy the file named MediaShout x.ini.  (Do NOT move the file or MediaShout may not work correctly.)
  3. Go to Start>Computer>C:>Windows and paste the file in that directory.
