Dual Bible Boxes TOO CLOSE

We have a Bilingual church (English & Spanish) and the Dual Bible is great …. BUT... the Dual Bible Boxes are just too close to each other and it is DIFFICULT to read!
Many times the Left Dual Box word runs right into the Right Dual Box word...
(1) I can manually move the right side, BUT the moment I change the left box, the right box jumps next to it.
(2) I tried setting one side to Left Justified and the other to Right Justified... BUT the settings are not saved in the Template.
(3) I tried using FX box outlines (hoping to put a bit a space), but the Right Box simply places letters on top of the Left Box outline! Still too close!

Templates do NOT save the correct settings to maintain the two Dual Bible Boxes separate from each other.
Couldn't there be a Dual Box Inner Margin setting??
Or perhaps the Dual Bible Boxes be HORIZONTALLY placed, rather than vertically?

Does anyone have a good solution for this problem?

I would be happy to help you. Unfortunately it can take a little manipulation to get it just right. Some folks have even done theirs with one on top and one on the bottom, but there's not a really good way to save that onto a template. You for the most part have to play with it a little bit on each new cue from what we've found. We would love to improve it and have it on our list, but at the moment what you're seeing is (unfortunately) normal. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for your reply.
I have tried doing it one on top and one on the bottom, but as you mentioned, that is not saved in a template either. Unless there is something more automatic, it really makes doing things “on the fly” in our bilingual church very clumsy and frustrating.

I understand that software development takes time. If possible, it’d be great to have this issue escalated a bit.

Thanks!

I definitely understand. Unfortunately I don't have any other real suggestions that would work for "on the fly" type use. I will absolutely mention it to our team, and heard one of our senior techs also do so just this week to see if there's any way to make sure it has priority in this round of updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding and I'm sorry about the inconvenience again. I will mark this ticket as resolved for now so you don't keep getting pings for responses, but it will be worked on in the development end. Thanks!

I just ran into this as well. What I'd really love, across the board is a padding setting (similar to html) that I can pad the inside of the text box object. This is especially apparent when you have shadowing on the text, and the shadow runs outside the box: it get's chopped off. If I could set a right pad and left pad on these boxes that will fix both the shadow issue (as long as the shadow effect can bleed into the padding) and put enough space between the inner area of the 2 scripture texts.

Example of the "chopped" off shadow. This is also the margin I had to hand add to the text boxes. And as the OP said, if i touch anything on the left, it resets the margin I had to hand manipulate.

I definitely see what you're saying. Normally that only occurs when the boxes are really tight/have a lot of text close to the edge, and especially with bold text or text (and certain fonts more than others). I agree with you on the padding feature, it would be great. I'm not sure if that would make it into MediaShout 6 at this point or not, but it's a great idea even for future versions.

Padding would be a great feature – even if (for right now with this version) it was just built in permanently with no user-settings.

More settings that would “stick” with template creation would also be great. That would make it easier to do horizontal Dual-Verse box placement.

I'm totally with you. That is something we have in to work on and are hoping we can accomplish, to get the text box settings saved to the template correctly for the dual Bible cues. It is being accessed by our quality team. I'm sorry I couldn't help more directly!
