Mediashout 6 crashes when editing slides

Our church just recently upgraded computers as we were having problems with MS 6 crashing when trying to display motion backgrounds during worship. We upgraded significantly to the new Intel Core i5, with 250GB Samsung SSD, 8GB RAM, and 1 NVIDIA GTX 1070. We have noticed that occasionally Mediashout will still crash when using motion backgrounds (we only display 1024x768 4:3). And I am under the impression that Mediashout should easily be able to handle this, however we switched over to still backgrounds in the meantime. But our bigger problem is that we have constant crashes when editing these slides. Whether it is moving the text box, adjusting text box color or font, or changing the background opacity, we notice that mediashout constantly freezes up when making these changes and will often lead to a crash. All of these changes are then not recovered or saved and have to be done again while we cross our fingers the program won't crash again.

Does anybody else experience these same issues?

We are running the latest version and the latest codecs.

Hey Chance,

Thanks for your submission. We do not see this regularly happening within MediaShout. Usually, there is something outside of the program causing this issue. Even though you are on the latest version of Codecs, can you go through and reinstall them to make sure they are set the way we need them to be?

Here is a LINK to an article that answers questions about codecs and helps you download and install a codec package that we've found to helpful in resolving these issues. If you *CAREFULLY* follow these instructions, and you use the download link provided in the article, this should resolve your problems.

If you need assistance after you've downloaded this, please let me know.

Thanks,

Hey Ryan we had the same issue , the fix was to add mediashout.exe to control catalyst program (control software for the graphics card) under 3D gaming and that solved our problem

Mark,

That's very interesting! I appreciate that information. Are you using an Nvidia card also? Or, is yours an AMD Video Card? Either way, I know both have a Control Panel that should have similar preferences.

Thanks,

Chance, I upgraded to MS6 on Monday, and I have been experiencing the exact same behavior from MS with motion backgrounds. I have taken Mark's suggested action and added mediashout 6.exe to the "Manage 3D Settings" in my nVidia Control Panel. I will report back after I have had it running in this new configuration for a few days.
