Last week I ran the update seeing it was "mandatory" (with much hesitancy due to the fact we finally got the program working consistantly without crashing) and went home. This week I went to load Media shout and the program wouldn't start. With less than 30 minutes till needed I had to uninstall and then reinstall, then do video codecs, get the songs ready and pray it wouldn't crash. Needless to say my prayers weren't answered. I did notice that while in task manager that the MS6 (previous "updated" version before reinstall) that was there was 32bit instead of 64bit. Is the proper update not installing ? Also the Microsoft C++ has NEVER installed properly. I also eventually turned the projector off mid service due to glitches and crashes and did the update again hoping... no change MS6 wouldn't start after the update. Is there proper testing of this stuff before you put it out? I have NEVER had such flakiness out of a program before.

Stephen,

Thank you for your post. I appreciate you! I do apologize for the issues that you had this weekend. MediaShout 6 is a 32-Bit program. We may add a 64-Bit version at some point in the future, but not at this time. During the installation of MediaShout, it will always try to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and 2012. Usually, the computer already has these installed so they Fail. This is completely normal and should not be affecting the program whatsoever. We do have a QA Team that test's the builds before they are released to try and prevent as many of these types of issues as possible.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience this past week and weekend. Please let me know if you continue to have trouble, or if there is anything further I can try to assist you with.

God Bless.

They sent me here. https://support.mediashout.com/117555-Fix-for-Activation-Fail Its frustrating that they send out an update then find problems and dont fix them but make excessive steps to fix them for yourself. SOOOO FRUSTRATING IF THIS DOWNLOAD FINALLY WORKS I will probably NNEEVVEERR update again because they do not work and cause so much problems.

Stephen and Becky,

Yes, that is the link that will get you back up and going. We attached that link to all of the emails regarding the Critical Update once we determined that it was required.

I do apologize for any inconvenience that this update created.

Please let me know if you all have any remaining issues.

Thanks and God Bless,

Stephen,

Interesting.. That is surprising. Did it occur on something specific? Or, was it just random? Just to be sure, you have gone through everything in the article below?

https://support.mediashout.com/539990-Crashing-andor-Freezing-Issues-in-MediaShout-6

Also, please double check your System Specs to make sure they meet the requirements. Lastly, when you build a new Service, do you start with last week's script and go from there? Or, do you open a fresh script each week and begin building from there? It's possible to run into issues if you are using a script that has been carried over multiple times.

Let me know and we can go from there.

Thanks,

-Ryan
