Sharing violation in MediaShout 5

I get these 2 error messages upon closing MediaShout 5:

Encountered a sharing violation while accessing C:\ProgramData\MediaComplete\MediaShout5\Bible.dat.
and
Encountered a sharing violation while accessing C:\ProgramData\MediaComplete\MediaShout5\Lyric.dat.

How do I fix this?
Thanks!

Hey Fran,

To remove those messages upon closing, follow this path: C-drive > ProgramData > MediaComplete > MediaShout 5. Remove the items that end with ".dat" -- particularly the Lyric.dat and bible.dat and you will not have that message.

I hope this helps!

Hey Diane,

The .dat files should come back, that is not an issue. We only need to remove them if they become an issue.

Let me know if you are still having trouble!

God Bless!

Does the Sharing Violation Error keep coming back? Or, do the files? The files should return. The Error should not.

Thanks,

Oh, interesting. That shouldn't be. Did they go away for any period of time? If so, go in there and delete those .dat files again.

Thanks,

Strange. We have a couple options: You can continue deleting the .dat files. You can ignore them (they don't cause any harm, just annoying). Or, you can join our Plus Membership (www.mediashout.com/plus) for phone support so we can dig into this and see why that is going on.

Let me know how you'd like to proceed.

Thanks,

You know Ryan when we purchased Mediashout 5. It was free to get help. I think it is a disgrace that after spending the money for the product we now have to pay to get it fixed. It causes Mediashout to crash on occasion. So it does hurt. Our church will never buy another one of your products!

I understand. MediaShout 5 was released back in 2013 and we just ended the Free Support for MediaShout 5 last year. We supported MediaShout 5 for the better part of 5 years. I apologize for your frustration.

The Sharing Violation Messages should not cause a crash. Usually, they only come up after you have already closed the program. If this is not the case, please let me know when they show up.

Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused. I hope I am able to help further.

God Bless!
