Nine months ago, the Director of MediaShout wrote,
"Templates are coming. They will actually be a combination of Presets that save together. And then we will take it one step further and allow you to create Themes (which are a collection of Templates), much like the Sermon Builder does right now when selecting a theme. So a Theme will consist of Templates and a Template will consist of Presets (for a simple explanation)."
Nine months later, now in late April 2020, I would like to know: what is the expected time frame for delivery of this functionality in MediaShout 7? We have all waited a very long time to regain a function that was an integral part of MediaShout software as far back as I can remember.

Hey Rita,

With Development, it is very hard to say for sure when something will be added. It is true that we expected Templates to be added a months ago. Unfortunately, they are still being worked on and are trying to get them added into MediaShout 7 ASAP. I apologize for this delay and the inconvenience it has caused.

We do hope to have Templates added to MediaShout 7 very soon. But, again, it is so difficult to say, so we can't be certain.

Please let me know if there is something else I can try to help with.

Have a Blessed Day!

Now that I see templates in version 7.3 How do we set up our specific template to include things like presets, backgrounds etc?

Hey Bill and William,

Just like in the older versions of MediaShout, you would set the Lyric/Scripture up the way you want it (with the proper Text Box size, Text Font Style/Size/Color, Background, etc.). Then, at the bottom of the program, click the Templates up arrow and click Save As to save that as a Template. Then, you can add it to your Favorites or Set it as Default, as needed.

We have a really good video on this on our Features Page: www.mediashout.com/features.

I watched the video and on my MediaShout 7.30.1770 there is nothing in that Template bar area of my screen. I can 'Add a comment to this page.' or change the size of the screen showing, change my main display, or sync the page to the stage. But there are no template options. I even moved my task bar to see if it was hidden behind that.
Is there some 'view' I can change to show it?

Is there a setting that I'm missing? I'm attaching a screenshot of everything I see.

Hey Deb!

The cue that you are selected on is a Blank Cue that does not have Templates. To see this Templates bar, you must be selected on a Lyric Cue, Bible Cue, or Text Cue.

I hope this helps!

Geez!!!! So I should start my script by creating a TEXT cue and not with a Blank Cue that I add text to. Too simple for my brain!!
Thank you so much!

Hi Ryan, I like the new Template feature. I just ran into an issue - I created a lyric template but it does not show up in the list. When I try to create another one with the same name, it says it already exists. When I look in the template folder I notice that the template file is there as well. I tried exiting and opening MS but that did not help. I tried opening a new script and that did not work either. Any ideas? - note, everything works fine when I create a bible template. The only thing I can think of was that I deleted all the existing lyric templates as I don't like clutter and none of those will be used.
