How do I find and apply updates to the V7 program?

I've looked through all the menu items, particularly the help menu on V7. Is there an update button? Does the system automatically check for updates? I downloaded 7.0.5 to start a trial, and the change log shows 7.0.8 already. I, like another user has already asked, want to be able to use audio files in my cues, so we cannot consider upgrading until that feature is available.

Understandable. Much of the functionality will be coming soon, so keep an eye on the change log ( for updates.

Ok, so back to the question. How does the program update? Is it checking automatically behind the scenes? Is that functioning in the trial version? I can't find a "Check for Updates" button in the menus.

Developers are working on an auto-update feature that will let you know when an update is available. For the time being, bookmark the Change Log page at to keep up to date on changes in the current build.

The link you provided goes to the MediaShout download page. Just to be clear, are you saying that you have to download and reinstall V7 to update to 7.1.2?

You don't have to uninstall anything, but the update is just running the newest installer. It will install just the updates to your current version.

In v7 you can go to the Help Menu > About and the Program Version Number is shown at the bottom, just above your license information. (image attached)

Adam, I installed the latest available version today and after multiple attempts to open MS7 after the install, I ended up having to uninstall then install from scratch. The logo screen would pop up for a few seconds then go away with nothing else happening. I restarted the PC and attempted the install multiple times. It opened right up on the final install after uninstalling.

Just wanted to make you guys aware.

Would you mind emailing the script in question to us so we can try to determine what is keeping it from opening? If it is a large file, please use Dropbox or a large file transfer site to send the link and email to
