Mike,

There is the option to simply Insert a Slideshow as opposed to Importing it. This allows all transitions/animations to be carried over. The only caveat is that this requires a specific version of PowerPoint to work consistently. The versions that work are PowerPoint 2010 and 2016 Pro Plus. If you have either of these programs installed on the computer that will run the presentation, you should be able to Insert your PowerPoint into MediaShout and have the animation's/transitions work properly.

I hope this helps!

Hi Ryan

I hadn't appreciated the difference between importing and inserting so thanks for that. We do have Powerpoint 2010 on the PC and tried to insert a simple demo file created with it, but all I get is an icon of a spool of film?! I would really like to be able to use PPT transitions so would like to get to the bottom of this issue

Thanks

Hey Keith,

Sorry for the delay. If you are unable to insert a PowerPoint file, let's check a few things.

First, please make sure that PowerPoint 2010 is the only version of PowerPoint (or PowerPoint Viewer) installed.

Next, try running a Repair on PowerPoint 2010. If there is any option to add optional features please select ALL of them.

Let me know how that goes and we can take it from there.

Thanks,

Hi Ryan
thanks for the tip - there was a copy of Microsoft 365 on the PC from somewhere, I know not where! Removing that seems to do the trick - thank you very much.
