thumbnails for video files

In an older version of MS you used to be able to play back a video file and capture a moment to use as a thumbnail for the cue. I have a video file of a slideshow that starts with several seconds of black so the cue is black in the script. Is there a way to set a thumbnail in v.6?

Hey Sal!

There sure is. The key is to first get selected on that video within the middle Inline Editor. To do this, I usually try clicking on the very edge of the editing area to avoid the Text box and to select the video. Once you have the video selected, look on the Ribbon under the Home Tab for Play and Mark. Click this button to open that window. Here, you will have a scrub bar and a few buttons. One button says Mark Thumb. Use the scrub bar to choose what you want to be the Thumbnail image and then click Make Thumb.

Let me know if you have any trouble finding this.

God Bless!

-Ryan

Hey Murray,

First, this is for MediaShout 6. The Home Tab is at the very top of the program (next to File). Then, the ribbon is right beneath that Home Tab. I have attached a screenshot of the Ribbon.

Let me know if you need anything further!

-Ryan

Hey Murray,

Ah, I see. That makes sense. We do not have this feature available in MediaShout 7 just yet. We do plan to have it added in the near future, although there are a few other things ahead of it to be added. I'll make sure to pass this along to our Development Team.

Thanks!

-Ryan
