Shadow/outline of text

I'm a long time use of MS6, and just downloaded the MS7 Demo to try out again (I tried the initial release, but it lacked the features I needed). I've imported my lyrics, opened some MS6 scripts, and looks okay. Very fast on the transitions (THANK YOU!!!!!!). However, one thing I noticed when opening a previous song is there is no longer the text outline. I'm having issues with the FX modal.

If i use text outline, it just encroaches on the actual text and looks bad, no matter what pixel size i set the text outline. Is there a true outline, that just outlines the text?

I've attached pics from MS6 vs MS7. I'd use shadow, but it's an offset from the original text (and gives a nice 3d effect) but what i'm looking for is the ability to read the lyrics if on a white background, and unless i could center shadow at zero pixels, and make the shadow font larger, it won't do what I want.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike!

Thanks for sticking with us all these years. I'm glad you're trying 7 out again and hopefully, I can help answer the question here.

Based on what I'm seeing the outline feature is working okay on my end, but I have heard from other users it's a bit different looking than Version 6, more than likely attributed to the coding used to build the text in this version. I apologize it's not quite how 6 looks but hopefully you'll be able to find a font type that works with this a bit better. We'll continue to look at text and ways we can improve upon it moving forward as well!

Thanks Ben. I did change fonts, and it seems better. It's just weird that the more I increase the size of the outline, the more it encroaches on the inside of the font, vs growing toward the outside.

Have a great day!

It is a bit strange! I'm glad a different font looks a bit better! We'll continue to improve on this I hope :)
