Font Choice Pulldown Menu

Is it possible to either keep the pull-down menu for the fonts open as one searches for the most suitable font for the cue or have the edited font update on the editor as one hovers over the fonts in the pull down menu? Our church uses Chinese fonts in half of our services and because the font pull-down does not show Chinese fonts in the pull-down then it is hard to choose the right font without doing many repetitive steps that could be avoided if either of the improvements were added. Thanks fo...

Export Cues as Graphics Files (.jpg)

In MS5, we were able to export the entire script as .jpg files. This allowed us to create lower thirds for live broadcast from the original script, then export them for use with WireCast. No way to do that now, so we are just staying with MS5 on our streaming computer for the time-being. If you have PowerPoint on the computer with MediaShout you can try running CUE2PPT11 and converting slides to PowerPoint then in PowerPoint export to JPG. We do not have PowerPoint but I think it will work. ht...

Keyboard Key for Italics

When inputting text in the inline editor, I would love to be able to click "Ctrl+I" to change text from regular to italics. The "Ctrl+B" works for bold, but when I try the "Ctrl+I" it just eliminates the text altogether. Thank you! Thanks for the suggestion! We do have this feature request as SIX-885 in our system. It looks like this Bug has actually been around for a while now. The Developers are continuing to look into this to determine whether or not this is something that can be easily fixe...

Editing Bible Verse cue titles

In v5, I was able to edit the title of a cue when Pastor only wanted part of a verse to be displayed (e.g. Psalm 36:7b). That ability went away in v6. The cue list is a little confusing then, as you could have consecutive cues with the "same" title when they are really Psalm 36:7a and Psalm 36:7b. It's quicker to double check your entries if they could have different titles. I used that ability quite often in v5, and I miss it now that it's gone. I would be most grateful if it could be restored.

Font color choices

MediaShout 5 had the ability to match font colors (and outline/shadow colors) to other colors in the background. A little pencil icon showed up as a choice. Then the color could be lightened/darkened, as needed. Thanks Fran, we have this on the list.

Renumbering verses, choruses, etc.

In previous versions, I was able to assign any number to a verse, chorus, bridge, etc. Cannot find that capability in v6 but would find it very useful, particular when working with multiple hymnals. Sal, MediaShout does allow the renaming of Stanzas, but only if that Stanza is not in use. For example, if Verse 1 is actually the Chorus, and a Chorus is already in the Playorder, then renaming it calls it Chorus 2. So this is what I usually recommend. 1. Open the Insert Lyric dialog. 2. Select t...

Use Enter Key (Keyboard shortcut) to fire selected cue

In v5, there was the ability to select a cue by navigating with keyboard or mouse and then hitting 'Enter' key to fire the cue. This appears to have been removed in v6. This is very useful feature for running a script, especially during songs which get repeated and you quickly want to go back to the top of a lyric cue. Using a mouse to do this is less accurate and prone to mistakes. Please add this back. Israel, We are looking into this, but since we now have 2 areas of focus (Script and Pa...

Drag and Drop

Be able to drag a cue from one script to another. We had this ability in MS5 where we could open a script in the left side bar and then drag over a cue. I would use this feature to recreate my bible and sermon text. Right now I have to go into the first script, scroll down to the cue, copy it, go out of the first script into the second script, scroll down to the correct placement and paste it in. It wouldn't be bad if I only had to do this once, but there are anywhere from 7 to 10 cues on a give...

clone a slide

Media Shout 5 had the option of "cloning" a slide. This allowed a background, font and formatting to be identical, and just the text content could be changed. It was helpful for song & sermon titles and other headings. Or, if I wanted to keep a text and change the background from still to motion. Thanks again Fran, I know Clone is a 2 click option, but this can still be done by Copy & Paste. However, I will put it on the table for consideration in a future release.

Clock counter

It would be great to have a clock that counts up from zero that will show up on the stage view only and that will also continuously count up even while going from cue to cue during the sermon. Sherrie, Thanks for the suggestion. We will add it to our list and review it with our developers.

Dictionary

I would like to suggest that you add an embedded dictionary. It would be nice to be able to look up words and fire the definitions without having to leave the program and copy them from something else and the come back into MediaShout and paste them in a cue. Thank you. Thanks for the suggestion. We will add it to our list and review it with our developers. Thanks, my pastor is very often giving the definition of a word in his sermon and this would greatly improve my ability to quickly throw a d...

Hot Keys (for audio)

It would be great if you could add a place for audio “hot keys” I am often throwing up a sound such as a rimshot, a drumroll or a “five minute warning” bell. The five minute bell one is easy. I have it preprogrammed for five minutes before the end of our Sunday School class but having dedicated buttons to fire certain sounds on the spot would be great. I realize that I could customize the three cues at the top right of the screen. But I already use those for customized image cues. Thanks for the...

Font size increase & decrease buttons

I would like to see font size increase and decrease buttons that when clicked would bring any selected text to the next point size up or down. These would likely best sit next to the existing font size drop down. Often when building slides the user does not know exactly what font size will work best. These new buttons would allow for faster adjustments than repeatedly visiting the font size dropdown. Thank you in advance for your consideration! This idea originally came from my fellow projecti...

Ability to search for template by typing its name

We have a significant number of templates (currently 70+ lyric templates!) and finding the one you want in the list when inserting a lyric can be time-consuming. If it was possible to click the drop-down arrow, then start typing the template name to narrow the selection, that would be a *fantastic* addition. (You may ask why we have so many templates. We use different sets of backgrounds for the seasons of the church year - currently using a green set for ordinary time. Some songs are licensed ...

Startup in Volunteer Mode

Hey guys Just a request, if possible, to be able to quit Mediashout 6 while in Volunteer Mode and have it then launch in Volunteer Mode when Mediashout is re-opened. This way, a volunteer can startup MS just by running a script and not have to switch it over to Volunteer Mode. Thanks! Andre, We did consider this as an option, but it's one of those things that regardless of how you set it, ON or OFF, you can only make 50% happy. Since there are limitations in Volunteer Mode, we decided the 2 ...

Import pictures as pages to a single cue

I would like to be able to create multiple pages, from multiple jpg files, all under one cue - for instance when creating announcement slides from a batch of jpg's. If they are all under one cue, I could see them all at once in the page area. I can do this very painstakingly by creating blank pages within a cue and then importing the image into it, but I'd like to import them all at once. I think I can import multiples at once if I make each one a separate cue, but then I can't see them all a...

MIDI Module

The MIDI Module is an additional plugin that can be downloaded (that is currently only usable with ProPresenter), where you can control a presentation software by a MIDI device via a network connection. This could prove to be useful in a number of different scenarios like synching a lyric video with tracks from the worship team, automating various cues with precision and accuracy, and creating a smoother and less distracting Sunday morning church environment all together in case a volunteer mess...

Invert color tool in the Masking feature

We have a circular screen we are using for our missions convention to project a moving globe, so we want to mask out everything except that circle. Unfortunately there is no simple way to do that. With the current masking tools you can add a circle, but it masks out that circle you create instead of masking out everything but that circle. So in order to create a circle mask, we need to spend a lot of time using circles and rectangles to mask out everything but a circular shape, but the problem w...
