Diversify Song Database

Hi I'm a user at a predominantly african-american church and the only issue I have with the system is that any songs I try to find lyrics for by african-american artist are not in the song database, causing me to have to type, or drag-and-drop from the internet into Mediashout. We do a variety of songs from all christian artist, but it's a little taxing to have to repeat this process for non-K-Love type songs. I don't know if your database is based on submission by the artist or selection from...

Websocket interface

i still using showcockpit.com and they create interfase for many software, the only they need are websocket to make the connection. This integration allow automate the light, lyrics, the band (using ableton or reaper) and the soundboard. thanks! Hey Leandro, We don't currently interface with them and I don't believe that this is something we have planned. I will definitely pass this along to our Team for consideration, however. Thanks so much! God Bless! -Ryan

Change BG > For This Entire Script - Needs "Confirmation" prompt

If you are going to "Change BG" "For This Entire Script" I would like a "Confirmation" prompt ("This will change the BG for ALL CUES -- do you really want to do this?"). It is not immediately obvious that you've done this accidentally until you move to another Cue and see that you applied a change to the ENTIRE script. Then you can only use UNDO to get things back to where they were, which may mean undoing a lot of other edits to the last Cue you just edited. Thanks Beverly, I have added this ...

Ability to Export Lyrics and Bible Cues from a Script to a Text File

Add the ability to export Lyrics and Bible Cues in a script to a single text file for review by Worship Leaders. We have a number in our congregation who are visually impaired. They have the ability to create Braille documents but we will need to provide them the text. Being able to export an entire script as text (with an option for repeats etc.) will be huge for them. Hey Mike! This is awesome! We are working on some tools to do exactly what you describe. Stay with us as we work through t...

Lyric search to ignore punctuation

Please could the search line in add lyrics ignore punctuation? Currently "Come let us join" will return no results if the song is in as "Come, let us join" and vice versa. This results in frustration when searching, and sometimes songs being added multiple times because the song is not found. Thank you Hi, I apologize for the delayed response. I reached out to our Team and was able to verify that this is something that our Developers are currently looking into. We hope to be able to add this...

Shuffle option for audio playlist script control

Please consider adding a shuffle option to a play audio playlist script control. Currently you can shuffle tracks in a playlist when playing through the playlist window, but if you insert a script control cue to play a playlist, there appears to be no way to set that playlist to shuffle. This would be very helpful as I have a script template I start with each week for our service, I have added a script control to play a playlist of prelude music before the service, but each time I fire that co...

Floating Scripts

Hi, Many of my scripts use slides or structure from previous times. It would be great if there was the abilty to float scripts and drag and drop them to a newly constructed script. At the moment you copy from the old script, then return to the first script, re-find the place the position (the script has returned to the top) for pasting - then paste. It could be a lot simpler. Paul Hey Paul! I see that this has already been requested as a Feature Request here: https://support.mediashout.com/2631...

clone a slide

Media Shout 5 had the option of "cloning" a slide. This allowed a background, font and formatting to be identical, and just the text content could be changed. It was helpful for song & sermon titles and other headings. Or, if I wanted to keep a text and change the background from still to motion. Thanks again Fran, I know Clone is a 2 click option, but this can still be done by Copy & Paste. However, I will put it on the table for consideration in a future release. I always leaned toward copy -...

Drag and Drop

Be able to drag a cue from one script to another. We had this ability in MS5 where we could open a script in the left side bar and then drag over a cue. I would use this feature to recreate my bible and sermon text. Right now I have to go into the first script, scroll down to the cue, copy it, go out of the first script into the second script, scroll down to the correct placement and paste it in. It wouldn't be bad if I only had to do this once, but there are anywhere from 7 to 10 cues on a give...

Text Color change independent of font size

I often have lines which alternate between bold, non-italic and italic, non-bold and sometimes differing sizes. If all lines are selected and the color is changed, everything goes to non-bold, non-italic, intermediate size. Neither Outline or shadow affects font size or style. Can the font engine be modified to allow independence of color change or would that put it in the category of outline and shadow in that a change of color would perforce apply to all text in a cue and changing color of a s...

Font Choice Pulldown Menu

Is it possible to either keep the pull-down menu for the fonts open as one searches for the most suitable font for the cue or have the edited font update on the editor as one hovers over the fonts in the pull down menu? Our church uses Chinese fonts in half of our services and because the font pull-down does not show Chinese fonts in the pull-down then it is hard to choose the right font without doing many repetitive steps that could be avoided if either of the improvements were added. Thanks fo...

Export Cues as Graphics Files (.jpg)

In MS5, we were able to export the entire script as .jpg files. This allowed us to create lower thirds for live broadcast from the original script, then export them for use with WireCast. No way to do that now, so we are just staying with MS5 on our streaming computer for the time-being. If you have PowerPoint on the computer with MediaShout you can try running CUE2PPT11 and converting slides to PowerPoint then in PowerPoint export to JPG. We do not have PowerPoint but I think it will work. ht...

Keyboard Key for Italics

When inputting text in the inline editor, I would love to be able to click "Ctrl+I" to change text from regular to italics. The "Ctrl+B" works for bold, but when I try the "Ctrl+I" it just eliminates the text altogether. Thank you! Thanks for the suggestion! We do have this feature request as SIX-885 in our system. It looks like this Bug has actually been around for a while now. The Developers are continuing to look into this to determine whether or not this is something that can be easily fixe...

Editing Bible Verse cue titles

In v5, I was able to edit the title of a cue when Pastor only wanted part of a verse to be displayed (e.g. Psalm 36:7b). That ability went away in v6. The cue list is a little confusing then, as you could have consecutive cues with the "same" title when they are really Psalm 36:7a and Psalm 36:7b. It's quicker to double check your entries if they could have different titles. I used that ability quite often in v5, and I miss it now that it's gone. I would be most grateful if it could be restored.

Font color choices

MediaShout 5 had the ability to match font colors (and outline/shadow colors) to other colors in the background. A little pencil icon showed up as a choice. Then the color could be lightened/darkened, as needed. Thanks Fran, we have this on the list.

Renumbering verses, choruses, etc.

In previous versions, I was able to assign any number to a verse, chorus, bridge, etc. Cannot find that capability in v6 but would find it very useful, particular when working with multiple hymnals. Sal, MediaShout does allow the renaming of Stanzas, but only if that Stanza is not in use. For example, if Verse 1 is actually the Chorus, and a Chorus is already in the Playorder, then renaming it calls it Chorus 2. So this is what I usually recommend. 1. Open the Insert Lyric dialog. 2. Select t...

Use Enter Key (Keyboard shortcut) to fire selected cue

In v5, there was the ability to select a cue by navigating with keyboard or mouse and then hitting 'Enter' key to fire the cue. This appears to have been removed in v6. This is very useful feature for running a script, especially during songs which get repeated and you quickly want to go back to the top of a lyric cue. Using a mouse to do this is less accurate and prone to mistakes. Please add this back. Israel, We are looking into this, but since we now have 2 areas of focus (Script and Pa...

Clock counter

It would be great to have a clock that counts up from zero that will show up on the stage view only and that will also continuously count up even while going from cue to cue during the sermon. Sherrie, Thanks for the suggestion. We will add it to our list and review it with our developers.

Dictionary

I would like to suggest that you add an embedded dictionary. It would be nice to be able to look up words and fire the definitions without having to leave the program and copy them from something else and the come back into MediaShout and paste them in a cue. Thank you. Thanks for the suggestion. We will add it to our list and review it with our developers. Thanks, my pastor is very often giving the definition of a word in his sermon and this would greatly improve my ability to quickly throw a d...
