Saving a cue to the Cue Library takes a very long time.

I’m noticing that as I build out my library of prebuilt cues that it is beginning to take a very long time to save a cue to the new Cues Library. This goes for both new cues and updates to existing cues. I expect it to take longer if the cue has a video, 25+ slides, but it’s to the point where I’m clicking the star then going to find something to do before coming back to the PC.
I don’t have the newest machine, but it only runs our display so resources are plentiful. So I’m curious to see if it is just me.

Hey Jeff,

I haven't noticed that on my side. About how long does it take to save? And, has this gotten progressively worse? Or, did it just become much slower over night? I assume that you are on the latest 7.1.8, right?

Thanks,

-Ryan

Hey Ryan,
It's at least 5 minutes to save a cue. Can be shorter or longer depending on how many slides.
I am on 7.1.8 and I feel like it started taking longer after taking one of the recent updates, but has gotten progressively worse. Then as I've got more comfortable with the new version I've done more to the cues (transitions, move videos, etc), so I imagine that comes into play to an extent. But the extra stuff doesn't always come into play, I don't always add transitions for instance.
That wasn't a very definitive answer, but we can put it this way: I had noticed the time was definitely not as quick as saving a Word document and now it's just got to the point of saying something about it.
-Jeff

Hey Ryan,
I'm getting Sunday's slides together so I thought I'd get you some times.
To just save my template of 6, 1-slide cues, it takes about 8 seconds.
To save my presentation it takes about 13-15 seconds. That's with 5 songs on top of the template.
Where it gets really hairy is saving to the cue library. I used a 15 slide song with a video background and it took about 4.5 minutes. I did notice some of the MOV files were rather large, so I converted some down to about 10mb MP4 files.
That same song took almost as long to save when using a still background (4m 24 seconds).
My last test was to use one of the included MS background videos. It still took about 4.5 minutes to save the cue to the library.
After all those saves, the script itself only took 15 seconds to save.

Thanks,
Jeff
