Need fix for when you switch projectors to different input which causes mediashout to go into single monitor mode.

Our Church has 3 projectors connected to a powered splitter which itself is connected to a 4-way switcher. This allows us to switch from mediashout pc to other inputs, like a direct feed from camera or allow others to plug a laptop in for special events. Everything is HQ HDMI due to distance needed to reach projectors. The issue I have is when mediashout is running and you switch to live feed from camera, since it is HDMI windows 10 automatically disables 2nd monitor and mediashout presentation automatically switches to monitor 1 hiding controls. Switching back, windows 10 sees the HDMI connection again and reestablishes monitor 2, but mediashout does not move presentation back to that monitor.

Now this is a windows issue as this will not happen with a DVI connection (from what I've read). I'm just wondering if anyone has this issue as well and if there is a work around? I would be willing to get 3rd party software to fix this, but have not been able to find anything. Microsoft simply states it's a "feature" and can not be changed. Mediashout might consider making a "Hot key" for future releases to move presentation screen back to monitor 2. As of now the you either have to shut mediashout down before switching (best solution at moment) and restart mediashout after monitor 2 is back up or use ctr+alt+1 to switch to single monitor (this is not always reliable) then go to settings and set it back to 2 monitors after monitor 2 is restored.

So any ideas are appreciated.

Rick,

Anytime you are using a Switcher to switch between using MediaShout and something else, the opportunity for the connection to drop is large. To mitigate this, you may want to look into purchasing an EDID Emulator (http://connectpro.com/video-solutions/ddc-emulators/). This will keep the connection between the computer and that switcher constant (so, the computer and MediaShout never lose the connection with the screens).

I hope this is helpful!

Thanks and God Bless,
