MediaShout uses a program called InstallShield that is very commonly used by many applications to manage the installation process. Occasionally the InstallShield application has problems installing a program due to a malfunction that occurred during a previous installation, even if that was a completely different program.
This error typically happens when InstallShield 'remembers' that it was told to install to, or from, a different drive letter than the current MediaShout installation is trying to use. This is a common problem with InstallShield, and if you search on the internet you will find a lot of cases and potential fixes.
Here are some possible causes:
- The CD-ROM DVD-ROM drive letter has changed since a previous install.
- You have changed the drive letter of the hard disk that the operating system is installed on. (Ex: standard drive C is now another drive letter)
- A registry key contains and incorrect value in a Data field.
Please visit the InstallShield web site for more information about this error.
