Mel,

Unless there is something specific you are trying to do, this is already possible.
If you drag each audio file onto the desired page of the cue, when you go from one page to the next, one audio file will fade out as the other fades in.

Mel,

I just tested this on Windows 7 and it work the same for me as it does on Windows 10.

Since you are a Plus Member, I suggest submitting a ticket, giving us a call or schedule a call so one of our Techs can dig into this a little deeper. Just be sure to log into your Plus Account and use the links there for doing this.

Hi John,
I have tried to drag the audio files to the pages in both a text cue and a liturgy cue.
It won't let me. You will have to show me how to do it.
We use .mid files for our audio files.
I don't know if this makes a difference.
MediaShout claims they process .mid files the same as any other audio file.

Mel,

Please give us a call. It's not that I don't want to help, but I don't want to turn the Feature Request Forum into a Support Forum.

Mel,

Just in case anyone comes across this thread, I wanted to make one more reply and it may also help you in resolving this issue.

Midi files are not true audio files and will not behave like MP3's or other true audio formats. Midi files are not a super compressed audio file. They are nothing more than a set of instructions telling the computer what sounds to generate. That's why the files are so small in size. You may find the information in this article I found very interesting.

If you want to use these files, they will need to be converted into a true audio format such as MP3. I found a free converter that does a nice job and will do the files in batches. I have attached it as a ZIP file.

Hope this helps you and anyone else who my see this.

I'm sorry John,
I did not think this was already a feature and obviously it isn't for midi files.
I would like MediaShout look into making midi files work better.
Which brings up another thing.
Our midi files work correctly with V4.5 and V6 running on Windows 7.
They do not work correctly with either version on Windows 10
The midi files do work correctly on Windows 10 if you play them using the Windows Media Player.
We are unable to convert our midi files to mp3s because we use them to drive our organ.

I did not want to or expect this Feature Request into a Support Request.

Mel,

Using the converter does NOT alter the original file. It makes an MP3 copy of it. So you can still use the original files with your organ.

The reason they worked in previous version on Windows 7 is because of the way that version of Windows dealt with midi files. In V4, users would use them to control lights. Not that it was a feature in V4, but simply because of the way Windows 7 processed the files. Not so much with newer software and Operating Systems.

Although I can't promise anything because it is too early to tell, but we are looking into developing greater support for midi files, But this is going to take developing a separate special midi controller.

John,

If we create a text file in V4.5 and attach the midi files to the individual pages, save the script.
If we then input that script into V6, then it plays correctly.
It's just that when we try to attach the individual midi files to the individual page it diesn't work.

I guess until somebody makes some changes, we will just continue using the text files created with V4.5 in V6.
I just figured that if we could attached individual midi files to the individual pages of a text cue in V4.5 that we should be able to do that also in V6.
That was the whole reason for this future request.
Thank you John.
