Allow dissolve transition while inheriting background

In MS 4.5 I was able to use a dissolve between different songs while inheriting the background. MS 6 does not allow this. Please see the attached script. If you go from song A to song B it is a cut transition. However if you go from song B to song A the dissolve works correctly.

John,

When using Inherit BG, the transition options for the "Cue" to "Cue" will be disabled because it will use the same BG. What you are looking for are the Text transitions found in the FX window. These control the text. If you only want the transition applied to the first page, do not click the Apply to Cue button.

In the future, please submit issues like this to our support team (https://support.mediashout.com/submit_ticket) or the Community Forum (https://support.mediashout.com/269721-MediaShout-6-Windows-User-Forum).

If you have an idea for a Feature that is currently not included, this is the place to post them.

Thanks and be blessed.

I was working with David on this "bug". It took several emails, but I think he understands what I am trying to accomplish. He agreed that MS 6 does not allow text dissolves between two different songs while inheriting the background. I could do this in MS 4.5. He suggested that I request it as a new feature. Maybe you could coordinate with him. Thanks

I must be missing something. I just tested your script and the text DID dissolve when I went from Cue #1 to Cue #2. But I think I see what you are seeing. It appears the text on the last page of Cue #1 cuts out while the text on page one of Cue #2 dissolves in.

If the background is a video, I can see this as a bug. I will discuss this with the developers to see if this is something that can be easily changed.

In the meantime, you do have a couple of options. If you add a blank at the end of the cue, it works like a charm. and this works for all background options (video, image or color) but is needed if you are using Video. If it is an image or color, use the same background instead of Inherit BG.

John,

I just heard back from the developers on this request and unfortunately, it will not be possible. With the new video engine that allows for the playback of the multiple objects, (videos, images and other objects) we lost the ability to have the "Cue to Cue" transitions when "Inherit BG" is used.

The only solutions to the issue are the options I provided earlier. If you are using a video as the BG, add a blank at the end. If you are using Images or Colors, apply the same to all cues.

Sorry I don't have the answer you were hoping for.
