Media Shout 5 had the option of "cloning" a slide. This allowed a background, font and formatting to be identical, and just the text content could be changed. It was helpful for song & sermon titles and other headings. Or, if I wanted to keep a text and change the background from still to motion.

I always leaned toward copy - paste with control keys, Select the slide, then hold the Control key down and hit the C followed by V key. continue hitting the 'V; key while holding down the control key to make multiple copies. Far faster than multiple invocations of clone.
