Do to several volunteers (who use a remote to advance the slides from the stage), complaining about the extra steps to toggle the remote and sometimes forgetting, I'm suggesting that there be more options for setup where you can select the toggle remote to default to on. I know not all users want the remote to be on, so I'm not suggesting that it be on unless you turn it off, but likewise it shouldn't be off every time you start MS if you want it on.

There should be a setting to have the toggle remote setting to default to 1) on, 2) off, 3) last setting.

If you set it to default to off, you can always turn it on (like it works now)
If you set it to default to on, you can always turn it off.
If you set it to default to last setting, it will be on, if it was on the last time you ran MS and it would be off, if it was off the last time you ran MS.
Keep the toggle switch, but allow the user or admin to set the default.

We can't be the only church that has this problem, or has suggested this change, but I couldn't find it in the feature request section.

Thanks for your consideration. I'd even go for a command line switch or batch file that would activate the toggle remote to on each time we ran MediaShout.

Rick,

We did have option 3 implemented in V5, but that caused issues because users forgot to turn it off. So it was decided to keep it a manual option.

I have one of our guys looking into creating a Batch file idea, and if it is possible, I will let you know.

That would be great!
Another thought...
If this setting could be part of the workspaces settings each person or group could set it how they want for their workspace.
In our current situation, we need the same setup for all services, but I understand the need for different settings for different reasons.

Rick,

The tech seems to think he should be able to create a file that will launch the software and turn on Remote Control. However, he won't have the time until next week to dig into it, so I can't make any promises at this point.
