MediaShout for Mac V1.1 + Mac OSX El Capitan and Yosemite

Please carefully review this article first before taking any action.

MediaShout for Mac V1.1 is NOT supported on Mac OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) or later.  Please do not update if you want to continue using MediaShout for Mac. (updated 9/30/15)

Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite) Users: MediaShout for Mac V1.1.5257 is now available!  This fixes all known issues with OS X Yosemite.  You can download that file from the following link: MediaShout for Mac V1.1

To install, you will need to uninstall your MediaShout for Mac V1.1 on Yosemite (don't worry, you won't lose songs, scripts, etc.) using the uninstaller included with this download.

Once that completes, then install the version included in this new download.

Before you open MediaShout, you may also need to update the Licensing service if it says, "your TRIAL has run out (Error -151)". Download the attached NalpeironDaemon_OSX_651.zip at the bottom of this page and extract the NalpeironDaemon_OSX_651.dmg file. Open the DMG and double click on the NalpeironProSDK6b package. Once installed, you will be asked to reboot, please do.

Please be aware that this is simply an update to the licensing software.

NOTE: We have seen some issues with PowerPoint and Keynote in Mavericks and later that doesn't allow for playing in MediaShout.  The best resolution for those situations is to have the presentation open up separately and have it displayed on your other screen.  Then open MediaShout so that it is on top of your PowerPoint/Keynote on the second screen.  Using the Command+1 key combination will turn off the MediaShout screen and allow you to advance your presentation on the second screen.  When you reach the end of your presentation, simply click on MediaShout to bring focus back and hit Command+1 to bring MediaShout back on the second screen.

Known issues to be aware of:

1) As with Mavericks, Yosemite uses the Separate Spaces feature, so you will need to go to your System Preferences->Mission Control and uncheck "Displays have separate spaces."  Once this is done, you will need to Sign Out and Sign In for these changes to take effect.

2) If you use any USB to DVI adapters, DisplayLink has not updated their drivers as of 10/17/14.  Please keep watching their site for updates.

3) If you get a message that states “MediaShout or Nalpeiron”can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." You will need to either change your security settings for the option "Allow Apps Downloaded From" to "Anywhere". This is found under System Preferences/Security and Privacy. Or, hold down the Control Key while clicking on the file. This will give you the option to Open.
