Moving Your Lyrics Between Computers
To move your Lyrics library from MediaShout 7 on one computer to MediaShout 7 on another, follow these steps.
1. Close MediaShout 7
Make sure MediaShout 7 is completely closed.
2. Locate the MediaShout Folder
Go to C:\ProgramData\MediaShout on your first computer.
Note: The ProgramData folder is hidden by default. If you don't see it, you'll need to enable viewing hidden files.
3. Copy to Flash Drive
Copy the MediaShout 7 folder and paste it onto a flash drive.
4. Transfer to Second Computer
Eject the flash drive from the first computer and plug it into the second computer.
5. Locate the Second Computer's MediaShout Folder
Go to C:\ProgramData\MediaShout on the second computer.
6. Back Up the Existing Folder
Drag the existing MediaShout 7 folder to your Desktop as a backup.
7. Paste the New Folder
Copy the MediaShout 7 folder from your flash drive and paste it into C:\ProgramData\MediaShout on the second computer.
Adding Lyrics from Another Computer
To add (combine) your Lyrics library from one computer to another without replacing existing lyrics, follow these steps.
1. Open MediaShout 7 on the Source Computer
Open MediaShout 7 on the computer that has the library you want to share.
2. Open Insert Lyrics
Click the Music Note icon in the top left to open Insert Lyrics.
3. Go to Edit Tab
In the top right corner, click the Edit tab.
4. Select All Songs
In the library on the left, click the first song in the list. Then scroll to the bottom and hold SHIFT while clicking the last song. This will highlight all songs in your library.
5. Export Lyrics
On the left side of the Lyrics window, click Export Lyrics to file.
6. Save to Flash Drive
Save the file to your flash drive and name it Lyrics.json.
7. Open MediaShout 7 on the Second Computer
Open MediaShout 7 on the computer where you want to add the lyrics.
8. Open Insert Lyrics
Click the Insert Lyrics button.
9. Go to Edit Tab
In the top right, click the Edit tab.
10. Import Lyrics
Click the import icon on the left side of the Lyrics window. It's labeled Import Lyrics (from library or V6 ssc file).
11. Select Your File
Navigate to your flash drive and select the Lyrics.json file you saved.
12. Complete Import
The lyrics will be imported and combined with the existing library on this computer.
