Cue Setup for MediaShout 6

How should I configure my Cue Setup for MediaShout 6?

This article will walk you through the common scenarios and how you should configure your MediaShout 6 program to avoid any resolution mis-match issues or repagination of text boxes.

Scenario 1: One (and only one) Computer that you build and present on...

In this scenario, you only have one computer in your ministry that does all of the MediaShout 6 building and playback.  Here are the configuration steps to follow:

1) Make sure the computer is connected to your video system.
2) Hold the WINDOWS Key and press "P" until Extend is selected.  You should now see your background image on both your computer and out to your video system.
3) Open MediaShout 6.
4) In the Settings Tab, make sure that you only have "1 Display" selected in the Displays Section.
5) Click on the General Settings button to the left of that and then go to the Displays Tab.  In the left column, under the Main Display, note the Resolution provided.  OPTIONAL: If you also use the stage monitor, in the right column, note the Resolution under the Stage Display.
6) Go to the Cue Setup Tab and in the left column, in the Display Resolution drop-down, choose the resolution that matches what you noted in Step 5 (it should say "Current" next to it).  OPTIONAL: If you also use the stage monitor, change the right column's drop down to match what you got in the second part of Step 5.
8) Close the settings box and then change the Displays dropdown to "2 Displays" in the ribbon to set it to Dual Screen Mode (or "3 Displays" for Triple Screen Mode if you are using the Stage Monitor).

Scenario 2: At least one Computer that you build on and another Computer that you present on...

In this scenario, you have at least one computer in your ministry that does MediaShout 6 building and a different computer that does MediaShout 6 playback.  Here are the configuration steps to follow:

1) Make sure the PLAYBACK computer is connected to your video system.
6) Go to the Cue Setup Tab and in the left column, in the Display Resolution drop-down, choose the resolution that matches what you noted in Step 5.
9) On the BUILD computer, open MediaShout 6.
10) In the Settings Tab, make sure that you only have "1 Display" selected in the Displays Section.
11) Click on the General Settings button to the left of that and then go to the Cue Setup Tab and in the left column, in the Display Resolution drop-down, choose the resolution that matches what you noted in Step 5 on the PLAYBACK computer (NOTE: depending on what additional monitors you may have connected, this may be different than the "Current" on this system.  OPTIONAL: If you also use the stage monitor, change the right column's drop down to match what you got in the second part of Step 5.
12) Close the settings box.

Now, any cues you create on the BUILD Computer will be in the correct resolution for the PLAYBACK Computer.
