How to Back Up Your MediaShout 7 Data

Creating a backup of your MediaShout 7 data is a great way to protect your content and make transferring to a new computer quick and easy.

This process will back up your:

• Scripts
• Cues Library
• Bibles
• Program settings
• Supporting MediaShout files

Important:
This backup does not include media files or Scripts that you have saved elsewhere on your computer outside of the MediaShout folders. If you use custom files stored in other locations, you’ll need to back those up separately.

Full MediaShout 7 Backup

Follow these steps to create a complete backup of your MediaShout 7 data.

Step 1: Copy the “My Shout” Folder

On your computer, with MediaShout closed, open File Explorer and navigate to:

C:\Users\Public

Locate the My Shout folder and copy it to:

• A USB jump drive, or
• An external hard drive

Inside this folder, the My Shout\MS7 directory contains important MediaShout data such as:

• MediaShout supporting files
• Bibles
• Cues Library
• Other program resources

Step 2: Copy the “MediaShout” Program Data Folder

Next, navigate to:

C:\ProgramData

Locate the MediaShout folder and copy it to your backup drive.

Can’t See the ProgramData Folder?

The ProgramData directory is often hidden by default in Windows.

You’ll need to enable hidden folders before accessing it.

Step 3: Backup Complete

That’s it!

You now have a complete backup copy of the two folders that contain your MediaShout 7 program data.

Backing Up Only Your Lyrics Library

If you only need to back up your Lyrics Library, follow these steps:

1. Open the Lyrics Library

Launch MediaShout 7 on your current computer and open the Lyrics Library.

2. Switch to Edit Mode

Inside the Lyrics Library window, select Edit Mode.

3. Select Songs to Export

On the left side, select the songs you’d like to back up.

Click the Export option from the left-side icon panel.

Choose a location to save the export file.

4. Copy the Export File

Move the exported file to:

• A USB jump drive, or
• An external hard drive

Your Lyrics Library backup is now complete.

Backing Up Only Your Cues Library

Your Cues Library is stored inside the MediaShout data folder and can easily be copied to another system.

Step 1: With MediaShout closed, Navigate to the MediaShout Data Folder

Open File Explorer and go to:

C:\Users\Public\My Shout\MS7

Step 2: Copy the “CuesLibrary” Folder

Locate the CuesLibrary folder and copy it to:

• A USB jump drive, or
• An external hard drive

This folder contains all saved Cue Library items and can be moved to another MediaShout 7 system.
