How to use the Unsplash and Pixabay Integrations in MediaShout 7

Using the Unsplash & Pixabay Integrations in MediaShout 7.7.1

With MediaShout 7.7.1, finding beautiful worship backgrounds is easier than ever thanks to our new built-in integrations with Unsplash and Pixabay.

These integrations allow you to search for and use high-quality images and videos directly inside MediaShout—without ever needing to leave your presentation.

What Are Unsplash and Pixabay?

Unsplash

Unsplash is a popular online library of high-resolution, royalty-free photography contributed by creators around the world. It’s great for finding professional-quality still images for sermon slides, announcement loops, and worship backgrounds.

Pixabay

Pixabay is a free media library that offers both royalty-free photos and videos, making it perfect for finding motion backgrounds and scenic visuals to enhance your presentations.

How to Search for Backgrounds in MediaShout 7

After installing the 7.7.1 update, follow these steps:

1. Open Your Script

Launch MediaShout and open the Script you want to edit.

2. Open the Library Tab

On the right side of MediaShout, click the Library tab.

You’ll now see two main sections:

  • Your PC
Displays images and videos stored in the folders you’ve selected on your computer.
  • Online
    Gives you access to:
    • Unsplash
    • Pixabay

3. Choose Unsplash or Pixabay

Click whichever library you’d like to search.

A “Search Photos” search bar will appear.

4. Search for a Background

Type a keyword such as:

  • Bible
  • Mountain
  • Cross
  • Worship
  • Church
  • Sunrise

Then press Enter on your keyboard to load results.

5. Select Your Background

Browse through the search results and find the image or video you’d like to use.

Click and drag it to the far-left Cue editor column where it says:

“Drag and Drop to set as background”

Drop it there to instantly apply it as that Cue’s background.

Search Limit Notice

Unsplash and Pixabay have an hourly search request limit.

If you search frequently, you may see a message letting you know that you’re approaching or have reached the current hourly search limit.

Don’t worry—this limit automatically resets after 60 minutes, and you’ll be able to search again as normal.

Pro Tip

  • Use Unsplash when you want polished, professional photography backgrounds.
  • Use Pixabay when you want access to both images and motion video backgrounds.

This makes it easy to quickly find the perfect visual for worship lyrics, sermon notes, scripture passages, or announcement loops—all without leaving MediaShout.
