MediaShout 7 Checklist - A Beginner's Guide

Welcome to MediaShout 7! 

Attached to this form is a "MediaShout 7 Checklist". You will use it to keep track of your progress as you learn the basics of MediaShout 7.

 Below is our "Beginner's Guide" to each step found within that MediaShout 7 Checklist.

  1. I Downloaded and Installed MediaShout 7 Successfully.

    1. Go to our Downloads Page and click on the "Download MediaShout 7.x" button
    2. Open and run the MS7_Win.exe to begin the installation of MediaShout
    3. Click Finish to finish the installation
  2. After installation, I opened and read through the "Welcome to MediaShout 7.sc7x" slideshow.

    1. On the Welcome to MediaShout 7 screen that comes up with you first open MediaShout, double-click on the "Welcome to MediaShout 7.sc7x"  slideshow to open it
    2. Double-click on the first "cue" in the slideshow on the very left side of the program to begin the presentation
    3. Use your Spacebar to move from slide to slide if it doesn't move automatically for you
  3. I set up my screens to display my slides properly.

    1. Go through the steps in this article to set your screens properly
  4. I started a new script and Inserted a "Blank Cue".

    1. Open MediaShout and go to the File Menu in the top left and choose New Script
    2. Click on the Insert Menu at the top of the program and choose Insert Blank Cue
    3. Give the Blank Cue a name and click Create
  5. I inserted a "Lyric Cue".

    1. Click on the Insert Menu at the top of the program and choose Insert Lyric Cue
    2. Find the song that you want in the list on the left and then click Insert Lyrics in the bottom right corner of the Lyrics Window

  6. I inserted a "Bible Cue".

    1. Click on the Insert Menu at the top of the program and choose Insert Bible Cue
    2. Select the Bible Version/Book/Chapter on the left, select the verses that you want by checking the box for each, then click Insert Bible in the bottom right corner of the Bibles Window

  7. I added a picture or video file from my computer to a cue.

    1. Go to your Blank Cue (or insert a new one by going to Insert > Insert Blank Cue)
    2. Click on the Insert Menu and choose Insert Media Files
    3. Search your computer for the picture or video file that you'd like to bring in, select it, and click Open to add it to that Blank Cue in your Script
  8. I changed the background of one of my cues.

    1. Go to your Lyric or Bible Cue (or insert a new one by going to the Insert Menu)
    2. On the right side of the program, choose the Layers Tab and click on the Background button
    3. In the Background Settings Window, go to Image/Video and click Browse to search your computer and select the picture or video file that you'd like to bring in as the background
    4. Click open to add it
    5. Click Save Changes
  9. I adjusted the formatting on an object! ("Object" = Text box or media item on a cue).

    1. Go to your Lyric or Bible Cue (or insert a new one by going to Insert > Insert Lyric/Bible cue)
    2. Click on the text box in the middle of the program
    3. At the top of the program, you'll see all of the options for Font Style/Size/etc. 

  10. I successfully saved the program and closed out the software. I've done the basics!

    1. Go up to the File Menu in the top left and choose Save As
    2. Choose where you want to save the file (your Desktop or Documents or the default Scripts folder)
    3. Name your file
    4. Click Save and then exit out of the software.
