Streaming Your MediaShout Display to vMix
You can capture the video signal going to your TV screen and use it as a source in vMix for live streaming. This guide walks you through the process.
What You'll Need
- vMix software (installed and licensed on your PC)
- Proper cabling (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.)
- A streaming platform (YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch, etc.)
Step 1: Enable Screen Capture in vMix
- Open vMix
- Click Add Input > Screen Capture
- Select the display that corresponds to your TV output (e.g., Display 2)
- Click OK
Step 2: Add Screen Capture to Your Output
You can now preview and transition this input to your program output in vMix.
Click Stream (top right) to begin streaming.
Tip: From here you can also record, set up external output, or use NDI streaming.
Step 3: Configure Your Streaming Destination
- In vMix, go to Settings > Stream
- Select your streaming provider (YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch, etc.)
- Enter your stream key and server URL
- Click Start Stream
Troubleshooting
TV not showing as a screen? Make sure it's enabled in Windows Display Settings.
No audio? Adjust audio settings in vMix to ensure you're capturing system or input audio.
