Nalpeiron License Error after installing MediaShout 5

Some customers who've had MediaShout version 4 for a long time have experienced a Nalpeiron Licensing error after installing our new MediaShout 5. The good news is that the fix is fairly simple. Please follow these steps to resolve this issue: 

  1. Click 'Start' and type 'services.msc' in the search box and press Enter. (Or press 'Windows Key-R' to get to the 'Run' dialog where you can also enter 'services.msc' and press Enter. Either way will work.)
  2. Locate and right-click the 'AST Service' and go to 'Properties'. Stop the service and set the Startup type to 'Disabled', then press 'OK'.
  3. Locate and right-click the 'Nalpeiron Licensing Service' and go to 'Properties' and start the service (or start it using the button in the upper left side of the Services window).
  4. Test MediaShout and verify that it opens. If so, you may close the Services window and you are finished.
