Dear MediaShout User,
Thank you for being a loyal customer for years. We're writing to let you know that changes are coming. Our third-party licensing company is shutting down old servers, so you will no longer be able to activate or reactivate MediaShout 4 or 5 after January 15, 2019.
MediaShout 4 and 5 have become classics in MediaShout history, but as you know we no longer support or update them. While we wish we could guarantee a permanent lifespan for our legacy software, this situation is unfortunately out of our control. For this reason, we are letting users know as soon as possible so they can prepare.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
- MediaShout 4 and 5 will continue to run on existing computers, but you will NOT be able to put them on any new computers. Also, if there is a hardware failure or other issue that would cause MediaShout 4 or 5 to be deactivated on an existing computer, you would NOT be able to reactivate it.
- We recommend making sure you have activated MediaShout 4 or 5 on as many computers as you need and your license will allow before January 15, 2019 if you plan to continue using them. We will NOT be able to help get them activated or reactivated at that point
- If you already own and use MediaShout 6, you will not be affected by this change. We highly recommend moving to Version 6 as soon as possible if you have not already.
*NOTE: Since this email, MediaShout 7 is available, and that would be the available option to obtain a new license.
