Working with Audio Files in MediaShout 7

Adding Audio Files to Cues

MediaShout 7.2 added the ability for you to add audio files to your cues in two ways: as a background file that plays across multiple pages, or as an object on a single page. Choose the method that fits your workflow.

Method 1: Audio Background (Plays Across Multiple Pages)

Use this method when you want audio to play continuously through all pages of a cue—perfect for backing tracks, ambient music, or extended worship segments.

Step 1: Select Your Cue

On the left side of MediaShout 7, click the cue you want to add audio to.

Step 2: Open Background Settings

On the right side, click the Layers tab, then click Background.

Step 3: Browse and Select Audio

Click the Audio tab (blue), then click Choose Audio (red) to browse your computer and select your audio file.

Step 4: Adjust Settings and Save

Your audio file is now loaded. On the left side of the Background Settings window, adjust volume, playback options, or other settings as needed. Click Save Changes when done.

Tip: You can add a video, image, or color background along with audio. They'll layer together.

Method 2: Audio Object (Single Page Only)

Use this method when you want audio to play on just one specific page of a cue—great for sound effects, announcements, or page-specific music cues.

Step 1: Select Your Cue and Page

On the left side, click the cue, then select the specific page where you want the audio.

Step 2: Add the Audio File

Choose one of these options:

  • Drag and drop: Go to the Library tab, click Audio, and drag your file into the editing area.
  • Browse: Go to Insert > Media Files and browse to select your audio file.

Your audio is now placed as an object on that page only and will not carry over to other pages.
